Man sentenced to 3 years on gross sexual imposition

FREMONT — A Sandusky County judge sentenced a Fremont man to prison Wednesday for sex offenses.Randall Dennis, 65, of the 1000 block of Mallard Court, pleaded guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition, third-degree felonies, last month.Common pleas Judge Robert Hart sentenced Dennis to three years in prison and gave him credit for 34 days served in the county jail. Dennis is held in the jail until he's taken to a state prison to serve out his sentence.When his prison term is complete, Dennis is required to register as a sex offender, which means he'll have to provide his address to the county sheriff every six months for 25 years.Dennis' conviction stems from a Fremont police investigation, which began in January after a woman accused him of inappropriately touching her daughters, a 9-year-old and 7-year-old.The woman claimed he touched her daughters while they were in a hot tub at his home. The woman said she didn't see it, but her daughters told her.When detectives interviewed the children, they both said he touched them inappropriately on several occasions while they played a game he made up, according to a Fremont police report.Dennis originally denied the accusations and was charged with four counts of gross sexual imposition.
