Update: Bellevue man charged with murder

Updated post 2:30 p.m.BELLEVUE — Police arrested a Bellevue man Monday after he was accused of killing another person during a shooting.John Frost, 58, was charged with murder, a first-degree felony.At about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police received several calls about gunshots in an apartment building in the 100 block of Thomas Drive, according to a Bellevue police news release.Officers found 44-year-old Curtis Gibbs on the ground in the hallway. He was pronounced dead by medical personnel and was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.The initial investigation indicates numerous shots were fired from two different handguns, one of which belonged to Gibbs. Police recovered both firearms.Police detained and questioned a suspect in the shooting. Police have not released the suspect's name, but a Sandusky County deputy and a Bellevue Municipal Court clerk both confirmed Frost is charged with murder.He had an arraignment in the Bellevue Municipal Court Monday where he pleaded not guilty, deputy court clerk Lenitta Bollinger said.The murder Frost is accused of occurred the same day as Gibbs' death, Bollinger said.Frost is held in the Sandusky County jail on a $1 million bond. He has preliminary hearing in the municipal court on Aug. 6.Bellevue police were helped at the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office, the Huron County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
