Plea change hearings set for Corso's workers

SANDUSKY — Three men accused of re-entry into the country after deportation appeared Tuesday in a U.S. District Court.On June 5, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained more than 100 people after federal agents executed search warrants at Corso's Flower and Garden Center locations in Sandusky.The U.S. Attorney General's Office indicted eight of those workers for alleged illegal re-entry into the country after they were deported. Three of the men had pretrial conferences in the Toledo's U.S. District Court for Northern Ohio.The following pretrials took place:• Cutberto Gallardo-Trujillo, 49, his counsel was changed to Cleveland attorney Richard Drucker. The court scheduled an in-person status hearing and potential plea change hearing for Aug. 21.• Epigmenio Sifuentes-Cabrera, 35, was referred to probation to prepare for a modified presentence investigation report. The court scheduled a plea change and sentencing hearing for Sept. 18.• Bersain Alvarez-Lopez, 30, was referred to probation to prepare for a modified presentence investigation report. The court scheduled a plea change and sentencing hearing for Sept. 18.Out of the other men indicted one has already been removed from the country and three have plea change and sentencing hearings scheduled in August.If convicted, each man's sentence will be determined by factors unique to their case, including criminal histories or the defendant's role in the offense and the characteristics of the violations.Omar Rovelero-Morales, 37, is the only one indicted who hasn't had a court appearance.
