The Great Pumpkin Fest is all things family and children.New events:The heart-pumping, blood on the walls, fest known as Slaughter House.Demented butchers and mutated pigs turn the tables on those unfortunate (or fortunate depending on your bent) enough to enter.Guests should not be surprised to feel like the next course as they hear "Here is fresh meat," as they are surrounded by these screamsters."It is Halloween. This is a little edgier," said Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point.Slaughter House is scarier then the normal HalloWeekends attraction but that is what guests to Cedar Point told them they wanted.Cedar Point listened and acted.Or go less fright with Pumpkin Blaze, located in the Top Thrill Dragster midway.Pumpkin Blaze is a massive display of a thousand jack o lanterns, all hand carved and light up day and night in a spectacular display. It is truly mesmerizing at night.All together there are more than 20,000 pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns and gourds decorating the park this HalloWeekends.The Great Pumpkin Fest is a kids delight on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. as attractions and shows geared just for the children and their families occur. The pumpkin fest is hosted by the Peanut's characters. It is made up of the Magical House on Boo Hill, Peppermint Patty's Hay Bale Maze and Woodstocks Crazy Cornstalks.Cedar Point has guests covered if all the screaming, either in fear or delight, makes them hungry with Night of the Living Fed.The feast of the dead is an all you can eat meal served from 5-7 p.m. onSaturday at Lakeside Pavilion.Sample of offers might be baked brains and cheese, fried fowl, baked fingers and beans, along with succotash salad to be washed down with Cedar Point's four beer offerings, such as SlaughterHouse Red- an Irish Red, Iron horse, Frontier Trail or Rougabrew.19th HalloWeekendsRuns this weekend through Nov. 1Guests are welcomed from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday; 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
