Sandusky woman charged with OVI

SANDUSKY — A Sandusky woman received her fourth operating a vehicle under the influence charge early Saturday morning, according to a report.While traveling west on Washington Street, an officer noticed a 2005 silver Chrysler drive erratically in the opposite direction without its headlights on just before 1 a.m. He stopped the vehicle and noticed the driver, identified as Damita Collins, 39, of the 1000 block of Camp St., had slurred speech and bloodshot, glass eyes. A law enforcement database search revealed Collins had prior impaired driving convictions in 2002, 2003 and 2016, the report states.When asked to provide identification, she allegedly struggled to remove her driver's license from her wallet and refused to undergo sobriety testing but admitted to drinking alcohol, according to the report. At the police station, Collins also refused to take a breathalyzer test.Collins was charged with operating a vehicle and refusing to test.
