What we know: The shooting at Milan Road Bar & Grill

SANDUSKY — Many details about the early Sunday morning shooting at the Milan Road Bar & Grill, the former IAB Club, 1504 Milan Road, remain unknown as of 5:25 p.m. Sunday.But, through police accounts and eyewitness reports, here's what has been told to the Register:Q: What happened?A: At about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, various local law enforcement agencies arrived to the Milan Road Bar & Grill, 1504 Milan Road, for a "shots fired" complaint."Thus far, we believe there was an altercation of some sort inside the bar, and then it went outside," Sandusky police Chief John Orzech said. "Once it was outside, there was an exchange of gunfire with multiple different caliber of weapons involved."Conversations between dispatchers and officers published on Sandusky police's website indicate at least:• One person sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.• One person sustained a gunshot wound to the neck.• One person sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder.Throughout Sunday morning, detectives surveyed the scene, closed off an adjacent parking lot with yellow police tape, to find evidence.Sandusky police Lt. Rich Braun said detectives discovered 71 shell casings, indicating at least 71 shots were discharged from firearms."It was dark in the back, and you could just see everyone running scared," said Maurisha Brown, who was at the establishment during the shooting. She recorded the incident on her cellphone. Have any arrests been made?A: "It appears right now the incident was with some residents of Sandusky and then some residents of Toledo," Orzech said. My wife and I and our four adult children spent all weekend in Sandusky visiting the downtown, neighborhoods, shops and friends. Sandusky is perfectly safe, but if you are looking for trouble, this 'private club' is the place to find it late on a Saturday night or early on a Sunday morning.
