Talent Show at Port Clinton High School

The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Port Clinton High School was the stage for students to show their talents whether it be singing, musical instruments, dancing or just joking around. More than 15 acts involving one student to 20 students took place on Friday afternoon hosted by the National Honor Society. The seats in the PAC were filled with high school students, teachers, friends and family members. "We get so excited," says Jennifer Lemke, whose son Timothy Lawrence was about to perform. "His music is his world. We get very excited watching him play his guitar." Lawrence, a senior at PCHS has been performing in the talent show for two years. "They are like a great big family in the performing arts center," says Lemke "there are a lot of talented kids in this school." "The students involved tried out for the talent show the beginning of March," says Kathy Miller, coordinator "and had a dress rehearsal the beginning of the week. They choose their own music, dance or any other act they decide to perform. The teachers usually do the last act, which is always fun. The students like to see the teachers let loose." The students that were involved in the talent show with their talent included: John Morton, singing; Donovan Mominee, dancing; Alyson Shaler and Miranda Rollins, singing and ukulele; Ashely Householder and Alyssa Peto, interpretive dance; Haley Klima, singing; Jewel Lewis, dancing; Christian Ryf, singing; the Leadership Council, a dance mix; Natalie Stitak, guitar; Jordan Kleinhans, singing; Daniel Cook, piano; Tim Lawrence and Seth Bickel, guitar and song; Alex Baugh Suter, gymnastics; Andrew Cline and Cal Keegan, a lip sync spoof and the teachers ending the show with music and dance.
