Devin Michael Richards

Devin Michael Richards, 23, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on Oct. 5, 1991, in Sandusky to Devin Weatherspoon and Davida (DeeDee) Richards.Devin's early childhood development included Montessori Children's House, Bay Area Christian College and Sandusky St. Mary's prior to entering Adams Jr. High. Devin also briefly attended Greenforest-McCalep Christian Academy in Decatur, Ga., ultimately graduating from Sandusky High School in 2009. Most recently, he was matriculated at Bowling Green State University pursuing a business management degree to complement his career goal of becoming a culinary professional and entrepreneur. Devin loved all aspects of culinary arts, from management and concept to preparing meals for friends and family. He was most recently employed at Denny's and Jimmy John's. Devin was very intelligent, charismatic, and an avid reader who also enjoyed listening to music and playing video games. He was exceptionally gifted in his ability to perform under extreme pressure, as well as motivate others. As a result, he was often promoted for such efforts. In 2008, Devin was a regular host on the award-winning "Sound of Youth" television show for preteen and teen audiences in Atlanta, Ga. Devin is survived by his parents, Devin Weatherspoon and DeeDee Richards of Sandusky; brothers, Trevor Richards-Baines of Charleston, W.Va., and Jarren Weatherspoon of Sandusky; a sister, Brittney Alexander of Sandusky; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Rose Weatherspoon Jr. and maternal grandmother, Rose Lalone, all of Sandusky; aunts, Keriena (Jake) Baker of Frankfort, Ky., Chris (Don) Chattin of Frankfort, Barb Lalone, Roshon (Anthony) Weatherspoon-Thomas of Atlanta and Autumn Watson of Michigan; uncles, Wally (Sue) Richards, Randy (Taqualia) Richards of Fremont and Ken (Sue) Ridenour of Kentucky; special great-aunt, Rachel Davis; great-great-aunt, Emma McDougle; and a host of other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Janet Richards and Junior Lalone.A visitation and service will be Saturday, March 14, for Devin, along with his friend, Christon Williams, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E.
