Fishing tournaments coming to Sandusky

SANDUSKY — Anglers be aware: fishing tournaments are coming to Lake Erie this summer.Ten tournaments are coming to the Shelby Street boat launch in the coming months. The next matchup will be the Northern Ohio Catfish Tournament Trail, slated to run this Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight, according to Sandusky's Recreation Department.Tournaments like these are a boon for Sandusky, according to city recreation superintendent Jason Werling."Any time a fishing tournament can utilize the Shelby Street boat ramp it is a benefit to the community as a whole," Werling said.
