Man charged with using fraudulent credit cards

SANDUSKY — Police arrested a Sandusky man Tuesday who allegedly used two fake credit cards to buy cigarettes at two stores.Tyler Caudill, 24, of the 300 block of Lane St., was charged with fifth-degree felony misuse of a credit card and misdemeanor theft and obstructing official business. Tanner Caudill, 24, of the same address, was cited for misdemeanor theft.Officers were first called to Cliff's Carry Out on Pierce Street at about 7:30 p.m., according to a Sandusky police report.An employee said after they handed the man, later identified as Tyler Caudill, four packs of cigarettes at a drive-thru window, the driver handed them a credit card and shortly after drove off, the report states. The employee then realized the card was not valid.Police soon after were called to Butts-N-More on West Perkins Avenue after a similar incident was reported.A Butts-N-More customer followed the car to the 2200 block of Columbus Ave. Police found the car and it was later towed.Officers went to the address of the car's registered owner, Tyler Caudill, the report states. Police spoke with Tanner Caudill, who allegedly admitted they took cigarettes from both stores using fraudulent cards.Police later found Tyler Caudill allegedly hiding in an attic in the home, according to the report.
