Smile Pho offers authentic Vietnamese food

HURON — No matter if he's making a chicken rice bowl or stirring up ingredients for a vegetarian soup, one of his many "pho" creations, Tony Vo always does so with a wide grin on his face.But why is he so happy?"When people come in here and eat the food, that makes me smile," Vo said. Smile Pho occupies the storefront once belonging to Jo Wok."We are working hard to bring people good food," said Vo, who added he makes each of his dishes from scratch on a daily basis. Each day, the restaurant makes fresh variations of pho, a Vietnamese soup. People can choose from three different broths and seven different proteins.Diners, whether eating in or taking out, can choose from a wide variety of selections, such as rice bowls, noodle salad bowls, Vietnamese sandwiches, other soups, spring rolls, egg rolls and more. Vo also wants to launch a line of drinks soon, offering bubble tea, coffees and smoothies."There is nothing else like this around here," Vo said. "I know people of Huron want good food choices in town, and that's why I wanted to open and try my best to bring all different kinds of choices here. And if they keep coming in, and enjoy what we have here, we can all smile together."Smile Pho is open 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
