Update 8:45 p.m. Sunday HURON TWP. — No injuries have been reported after someone reportedly discharged a firearm Sunday morning at Kalahari Resorts, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. Law enforcement officials were sent to rental suites owned by Kalahari rented out by subjects, who were evicted by Kalahari for an unknown reason and refused to leave, said Chief Deputy Jared Oliver of the Erie County Sheriff's Office.When officers arrived, numerous people were found running around the area in different directions with some people running to overflow parking lot. After the firearm reportedly went off, many people in the crowd fled the area on foot and in vehicles. One vehicle that left allegedly had someone involved with the discharged weapon, Oliver said.Law enforcement suspects this man fired a gun Sunday morning at Kalahari Resorts after an apparent fight.Just after 2:30 a.m., a vehicle matching one seen at Kalahari Resorts was stopped by deputies at Taco Bell on U.S. 250 and Fun Drive. The occupants — Cleveland residents Samuel McKnight Jr., 19, and Sylvester Harris Jr., 19, were arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm, which are fourth-degree felonies, according to a report. McKnight was also charged with marijuana possession.It's unclear if a 9mm firearm found at the scene on Kalahari property is the same one found in the vehicle."We were not able positively identify (the men) as being involved in the incident at Kalahari," Oliver said. "We do not know who was involved with discharging the firearm at this time. We recovered at least one shell casing from the parking lot."Oliver also said two people reported being struck by someone with a firearm, but they couldn't identify who did it. Additionally, a woman told law enforcement she found bullet hole in one of her car doors. The bullet is trapped somewhere between the door and inside the frame and a mechanic will help retrieve it, Oliver said.Erie County Sheriff's deputies were assisted by Perkins police and the State Highway Patrol.
