Bar 145° opens in Norwalk

topey@sanduskyregister.comIt was a continual stream of people at lunch on Wednesday coming and going from Norwalk's newest eatery, Bar 145°.Hostesses Jessica Bostic and Ashley Seitz were busy greeting and as soon as possible sitting customers while waitress rushed to bring tasty drinks and food to the table."We have great teamwork, we help each other out," Bostic said."All to brighten customers days," Seitz said.Bar 145° in Norwalk opened last week, serving good food and drinks with some live music on certain nights to entertain.A waitress would soon bring a delicious Sicilian pizza to Melissa Avendano and a Stack Your Own hamburger to Sandy Graves, neighbors who were out for lunch."This is very good. I would get it again," Avendano said.Graves tasted the fried green beans and then offered some to Avendano."These are good to," Graves said.The ladies admitted there was a wait for the food but it was to be expected in a busy new restaurant. There waitress was attentive and made sure they had drinks so it was simply a matter of enjoying each others company until the food came."Its been very busy, busier then expected. We sold more then our Toledo and Columbus locations," said Jeremy Fitzgerald, owner of Bar 145°.He attributes that to the uniqueness of the business with its varied menu and late night live bands, including local favorites and new sounds to hear from bands brought in from places like Columbus, Cincinnati, Chicago and Nashville."There is not much like us in this area, competition is a lot less," Fitzgerald said."We have live entertainment every Friday and Saturday and acoustic performances Wednesday and Thursday."Bar 145° is drawing people in from Bellevue, Huron, Milan and Sandusky, he said.When guests come in they do not recognize the place."It does not look like Bob Evans anymore," Fitzgerald laughs.An open floor plan, exposed duct work gives Bar 145° a warehouse feel.Garage doors separate the interior from the large outside patio but when open those on the patio don't feel isolated."They can still see and hear everything going on inside," Fitzgerald said.Bar 145° is known for their burgers and its Stack Your Own menu that allows patrons to create their perfect burger.But Bar 145° offers so much more with its unique menu, including the bar wings they have sold out of every night. There Mac and Cheese with maple bacon in it is another big seller."It is phenomenal," Fitzgerald said.It is only quality food and locally sourced delicious produce from the Chef's Garden in Huron used in the kitchen, said General Manager Ashli DeMore-Bartow.But Bartow, who resides in Norwalk, prides herself on the customer service given by the employees."They are making us proud," Bartow said. "Everywhere I go people stop me.
