CP welcomes body art

SANDUSKY — Cedar Point recently announced employees can now have colorful hair, beards, visible tattoos and more piercings.In the past, the park prohibited employees from having such body modifications and accessories, according to the 2016 employee guideline. "At Cedar Point, our associates are our greatest asset," park spokesman Tony Clark said. "As a top employer in the area, we strive to stay current with changing standards of appearance while emphasizing a professional and appropriate look for our team."Clark said the changes to tattoos, hair color and piercings are an attempt to evolve with the public. "We see many of these styles becoming more mainstream, and we welcome prospective applicants and associates who display these styles within our published guidelines," Clark said. "These changes will open up career opportunities to a wider audience of future associates while maintaining the welcoming family atmosphere that our guests have come to expect."Cedar Point hires thousands of people annually and in March hosted several job fairs with the goal of hiring 5,000 team members for the busy season. The park will open Saturday and debut its new record-breaking rollercoaster Steel Vengeance, a hyper-hybrid coaster built on the foundation of Mean Streak in Frontier Town.
