Scream for Steel Vengeance-themed ice cream

SANDUSKY — They corralled some tasty ingredients to whip up a new Wild West-themed treat.Toft Dairy workers once again partnered with Cedar Point, a union spanning three decades, to unveil an exclusive flavor for the amusement park's new ride, Steel Vengeance.Brownie Bandit combines a brownie batter variegate twisting through brownie batter ice cream loaded with chunks of homemade brownie."We had just tried these awesome brownie pieces, and we were trying to figure out a way to bring the ride and bandits together, and we said, 'What about Brownie Bandit?'" Toft's marketing director Morgan Meisler said. "I love it. I love that it's chocolate, I'm a chocolate eater, and the brownies are awesome. We had an old brownie flavor that just didn't have that wow factor. But this is awesome. We combined our chocolate with the brownie and took it to the next level."Brownie Bandit, one of Toft Dairy's new flavors, consists of brownie batter variegate twisting through brownie batter ice cream loaded with chunks of homemade brownie. The flavor and carton design pays homage to Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point's newest roller coaster.The carton's artwork, meanwhile, pays homage to Frontier Town, Steel Vengeance's home within Cedar Point. It prominently features all three ride characters — Digger, Chess and Blackjack — along with Steel Vengeance's silhouette, mountains and a sunset in the background."We definitely tried to get the theme right," Meisler said. "We did a lot of research on the ride and all the marketing aspects of it. We tried to make the carton have the same feel as the ride."Each year, Toft Dairy workers create an ice cream tying into Cedar Point's new ride. Among the more recent flavors:• In 2017, when Cedar Point Shores, formerly Soak City, debuted, Toft Dairy came out with Cedar Point Cotton Candy.• In 2016, when Valravn opened, Toft Dairy dished out Salty Caramel Fudge Truffle.• In 2015, when Mantis transformed into Rougarou, Toft Dairy introduced Chocolate Cookie Mint Madness."It's been since 1985 since we've been partners with them, and with everything that Cedar Point does for our community, we love teaming up with them," Meisler said. "Anytime we have an opportunity to work with them, we jump on it because we love them."In addition to Brownie Bandit, Toft Dairy also recently unveiled two other new flavors: Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle and Maple Fudge Waffle Cone.
