EHOVE program graduates six local students

Jennifer Johnson, of Norwalk, valedictorian, National Technical Honor Society member; Jeannette Rivera, of Sandusky, salutatorian; Amanda Hinojosa, of Norwalk, National Technical Honor Society; Robyn Eagans, of Sandusky; Anne Jacobs, of Tiffin; Angelia Stempowski, of Vermilion. Through hands-on training, classroom time and real-world experience, students in the patient care technician program are prepared for a career in a hospital, physician's office or other medical setting. Skills learned include phlebotomy, EKG monitors, administrative and office skills and assisting with medical procedures. As part of their practicum experience, the listed graduates applied their classroom knowledge and skills in a workplace setting at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Fisher-Titus Medical Center and ProMedica. This year's graduates are the second class in a row to have a 100 percent passage rate in all three credentials of the American Medical Technology and National Healthcare Association Certification Exam: Patient Care Technician (CPCT), EKG Technician (CET) and Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT).
