Police identify Bellevue gunshot victim

BELLEVUE — The circumstances surrounding the Sunday shooting death of a Bellevue man remain unclear. Police discovered the body of Dellmar Jacobs, 58, at a home on Fairfield Avenue that morning. Although the death remains under investigation, the public shouldn't worry for their safety, police said. "I don't have any concerns about (a shooter being at-large)," Bellevue police Detective Marc Linder said.Bellevue police responded to Fairfield Avenue after they received a 911 call. Officers found Jacobs' body inside. They also recovered a firearm at the scene. Few investigatory details were available Monday afternoon. Linder said a woman was present in the home when they arrived but couldn't comment when asked if police have any suspects.Police are trying to determine if the death was accidental, self-inflicted or a homicide.The body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. When the autopsy is complete, police will be able to release more information, Linder said.
