Christmas shooting leads to charges

Two men were indicted last week for their alleged involvement in a Christmas-night shooting on Ashburn Drive.Sedric Cook, 29, of the 1400 block of Wayne St., was indicted on charges of attempted murder, improper discharge of firearm into a home and two counts of felonious assault.Bernard Hall, 22, of the 1100 block of McKinley St., was indicted on charges of complicity to attempted murder, complicity to felonious assault and two counts of felony child endangering.Hall went to an Ashburn Drive home at about 11 p.m. on Christmas to meet with the mother of his two children, but he grew upset and tried to fight her friend when he learned she wasn't there, according to Sandusky police.He left, but returned about 15 minutes later with his kids and Cook in tow, police said. Cook pulled out a handgun and fired on the woman's friend several times as he tried to sprint away, police said. No one was injured, but a stray bullet pierced a nearby home.Cook turned himself in the following day and was released on bond Jan. 9. Hall was never arrested for his involvement, and remains on the run, police said. An indictment is a formal charge and does not denote guilt or innocence.
