Bi the numbers: Battle brings in millions.

More than 100,000 visitors spent in excess of $14 million in this region from late August to mid-September during the Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial events, according to Lake Erie Shores and Islands West. The celebration, 200 years in the making, had a significant economic impact, said Larry Fletcher, executive director of Lake Erie Shores and Islands, who on Friday provided data on the festivities. "It's a big shot in revenue," Regal said.On average, each visitor spent about $108 per day during the events, while an overnight visitor spent about $321 a day, Fletcher said.All of the businesses on Middle Bass and most of the businesses in Port Clinton saw record sales.Miller Ferry set an all-time record for passengers to Put-in-Bay on Sept. 1, and the Jet Express passenger count over the Labor Day weekend was 60 percent above the same period last year.
