PREP ROUNDUP: Henson goal propels Pirates boys to win

PERKINS TWP. — Kannyn Henson scored with 5:49 left in the second half to lift the Perkins boys soccer team to a 2-1 Northern Ohio Conference win over Huron on Wednesday. Trailing 1-0, the Pirates (6-4-1, 3-1-1 NOC) tied the game when Majeed Kattouah scored. Huron (3-8-1, 1-3-1) jumped out a quick lead on Dalton Finney's goal less than a minute into the game. Clyde 3, Columbian 2 CLYDE — Nico Lamponi scored twice as the Fliers picked up the Northern Ohio Conference victory. Trenton Glaspy added a goal for Clyde (2-9-1, 1-3 NOC) while Wyatt Pollock and Carson Hush tallied assists. GIRLS SOCCER Bellevue 4, Vermilion 0 BELLEVUE — Layla Price tallied a hat trick as the Lady Red rolled to the Northern Ohio Conference win. Kenzie McElwain added one goal for Bellevue (8-5, 4-1 NOC). The Sailors fell to 1-11, 0-5 with the loss. Clyde 1, Columbian 0 CLYDE — Quinn Feirstine scored the only goal of the night, lifting the Fliers to the Northern Ohio Conference win. Feirstine's goal came in the 74th minute. Macey Carter made two saves in goal for Clyde (5-6-1, 2-2-1 NOC). TENNIS Port Clinton 5, Fremont Ross 0 FREMONT — The Redskins got one final tune-up in the non-league win. Port Clinton (16-4) hosts the Div. II sectional tournament, starting at 9 a.m. Thursday.
