Local walk supports national cause

SANDUSKY — A local event aims to support a nationwide cause. The Alzheimer's Association's northwest Ohio chapter welcomes people to participate in the only local Walk to End Alzheimer's event, scheduled for Sunday at Jackson Street Pier, 233 W. Shoreline Drive, Sandusky: • Festivities begin at 10 a.m. • The walk ceremony starts at 11 a.m. • The actual walk begins at 11:20 a.m. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to fight Alzheimer's. There are many walks across the country to help raise money for this cause. As of late Monday, there are nearly 280 participants signed up, representing 48 teams, for Sandusky's walk. Collectively, they've raised more than $89,600. There's still time to register and donate.
