PREP ROUNDUP: Danbury beats SMCC, Margaretta falls

DANBURY TWP. — Danbury dropped the first set before defeating St. Mary Central Catholic 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23 in Sandusky Bay Conference volleyball action Tuesday. Avrey Bowling led the Lakers (9-2, 5-2 SBC) with 17 kills and three blocks and Cali Wunder had 34 assists and 10 digs. Jordan Ritz added eight kills and Lauren Bergman had 30 digs. Finley Karr topped SMCC (4-6, 2-5 SBC) with 32 assists. Reid Didion added 16 kills and 10 digs and Peyton Greenaker had 13 kills and two blocks. Brenna Carrozzino and Khloe West each had seven kills. SJCC 3, Margaretta 0 FREMONT — The Crimson Streaks swept Margaretta 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 in Sandusky Bay Conference action. Mya Feltner had nine kills and 13 digs for Margaretta and Adley Berg added seven kills and four blocks. Tarah Hershey had 17 digs for the Polar Bears, who fell to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in the SBC. SJCC improved to 5-5, 4-3. Margaretta plays at first-place Gibsonburg on Thursday. Huron 3, Edison 0 MILAN TWP. — The Tigers swept Edison 25-10, 25-20, 25-12 to improve to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the Northern Ohio Conference Bay Division. Mya Smith had 13 kills and three blocks for the Tigers. Riley Harkelroad added eight kills and 13 digs and Jada Foster had six kills. Reece Hotz finished with 32 assists and 13 digs. Macari Harris had 10 kills and three blocks for Edison (4-8, 0-2). Peyton Bissell added 21 assists and five digs. Reese Wells had 17 digs and Paisley Keefer added 10 digs. Huron hosts Stow on Saturday. Columbian 3, Sandusky 0 SANDUSKY — The Tornadoes swept Sandusky 25-9, 27-25, 25-20 in Northern Ohio Conference Lake Division action.
