What killed these fish?

SANDUSKY — A seemingly inordinate amount of dead fish washed up along Sandusky's shoreline Thursday.The fish, mostly carp and bass, appeared as the Sandusky Bay's ice receded from the coast along Shoreline Park.Fish wash up along Shoreline Park's coastline in downtown Sandusky Thursday.It's unknown how or why these fish died. It's also not known if a die-off is consistent with sudden thaws on Lake Erie. The Register left messages with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio EPA seeking clarification. But the local climate broke from that pattern during the past few days.
