Suspect in Mobil gas station robbery indicted

SANDUSKY — A grand jury indicted a man Tuesday accused of robbing the Mobil gas station across from Kalahari at gunpoint in December.Bryan Mitchell, 26, of the 1000 block of A Street, was indicted on one count of first-degree felony aggravated robbery.On Dec. 14, 2017, police received a 911 call after 12 a.m. from a Mobil gas station employee who said their store was just robbed by an armed man, according to the Erie County sheriff's office.Before receiving the 911 call, a citizen called Perkins police after they saw a man walking on the side of Milan Road (U.S. 250) and asked for an officer to make sure the man was okay.A nearby sheriff's deputy pulled up to the man, later determined to be Mitchell, who ran after the deputy turned on their cruiser's lights, police said.The deputy gave chase as the man ran onto Kalahari property.
