Professor from Sandusky to deliver Last Lecture speech

SANDUSKY — A doctor and professor from Sandusky will deliver a speech next week in Columbus. Dr. Leon McDougle will speak at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Ohio State University's Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital Auditorium. McDougle's speech is a part of the Medical Heritage Center's 10th annual Humanism in Medicine Last Lecture Series. "Dr. McDougle will describe his family's journey to Ohio; lessons learned in his journey from Sandusky, Ohio, to professor with tenure at Ohio State; and a discussion about the importance of imagination, collaboration and hope," a poster from the university states. The lecture series takes its name from the famous 2007 speech The Last Lecture — and later a 2008 New York Times bestselling book — from Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch, who asked the question, "What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance?"
