Detectives: Liske raped stepmother during massacre

A DNA test revealed that accused murderer William Liske raped his stepmother Susan, according to a recently released investigative report. William "B.J." Liske is accused of brutally murdering his father, William "Bill" Liske, 53, stepmother Susan Liske, 46, and stepbrother Derek Griffin, 23, on Halloween last year as they lay in their beds at their rural Benton Township home.Ottawa County Sheriff's Detective George Byington's investigative report revealed that a rape kit and DNA testing confirmed semen found inside Susan Liske was from Liske."The information was that the sexual assault examination kit revealed B.J. sexually assaulted Susan Liske," Byington wrote.He wrote a letter to his cousin, commenting on unspecified turmoil the family was dealing with."I wish this terrible thing would never have happened," he wrote. "I hope you and everyone will eventually find peace and happiness, through God's grace and try to forgive me. "Tell everyone I said HI, and that I love them, and am very sorry."In other matters, Liske's defense attorneys have asked for the death penalty to be removed from the case.
