Shooting victim dies

SANDUSKY — One of the victims of a double shooting on Aug. 16 in Sandusky has died. Sandusky police confirmed on Friday that one of the two victims, a 24-year-old man from Sandusky, died while hospitalized. Police did not identify him or the other man shot in the 1200 block of E. Parish St. But multiple people have identified the victim as Markier "Mark" S. Castile through social media posts. The Cuyahoga County medical examiner's website lists 24-year-old Markier S. Castile as having died on Friday. His city of residence is listed as Sandusky and place of death MetroHealth Medical Center. Sandusky police Chief Jared Oliver previously stated that both of the victims from the shooting were taken to MetroHealth. The second victim remained hospitalized in critical condition. No suspects have been identified or arrests made. "The investigation remains active and ongoing," Oliver said. "Additional information will be released as it becomes available."
