Many contestants vie for Erie County Fair crowns

PERKINS TWP. — Based on their respectable resumes, they're all worthy to wear the crown and represent the Erie County Fair. Several area children are competing for various royalty titles. All contests take place at Building No. 1 near the main grandstands: • The king and queen will be announced at 8 p.m. today. Among those vying to become Erie County Fair queen are Autumn Pence, Peyton Werner and Danica Ziemke. Among those vying to become Erie County Fair king are Blake Ott, Aaron Solet and Emerson Thayer. • The junior miss contestants will be announced at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Among those vying to become Erie County Fair junior miss are Carolyn Cabreja-Dahs, Grace Ender-Keller, Evangeline Gonzalez, Finnley Jaunzemis, Hayleigh Pena, Jessie Wensink, Valerie Wensink and Alba Wilson. • The little prince and princess pageants will be announced at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Among those vying to become an Erie County Fair princess are Kara Balduff, Layla Brown, Raelynn Klickner, Evellan Sparrow Pieta, Vyida Verde, Christina Walden and Madison Walden. Among those vying to become an Erie County Fair prince are Zaidyn Akers and Vinny Klickner. Celebrating Solet Edy Solet, of Elyria, the 2025 Erie County Fair queen and the 2026 Ohio Fairs' queen. "Solet, a standout representative of Ohio's fair community, will appear at the Erie County Fair throughout the week, helping spotlight youth achievement, agricultural heritage and the enduring spirit of county fairs across the state," according to a local fair board statement. Those representing the Erie County Fair will recognize and celebrate Solet's state title, which she earned this past January. More than 2,400 senior and junior fair board members attended this 101st-annual convention at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. "Solet's statewide title reflects her dedication to fair programming, youth leadership and community involvement," the statement read. "The Erie County Agricultural Society shared its enthusiasm for the statewide honor, noting that Solet's role as Ohio fairs' queen reinforces the fair's mission of promoting agriculture, youth development and community pride."
