PREP ROUNDUP: Perkins girls win Woodmore Invite

ELMORE — Senior Ireland Hart fired a 76, leading Perkins to the team championship at the Woodmore Girls Invitational on Friday at Sugar Creek Golf Course. Hart's round was second overall behind Fremont St. Joseph's Ryan Dickman, who was medalist with a 71. The Pirates finished with a team total of 356, six shots better than Hopewell-Loudon. Maycee Bohn added an 85 for Perkins while Aubrey Ransom carded a 97 and Tatum Koch a 98. Huron was ninth as a group, shooting a 417. Ashtyn Spooner paced the Tigers with a round of 83 while Lindsay Wainright fired a 97. Margaretta took 13th, finishing with a 434. Ellaynah Schaefer led the Polar Bears with a 95 while Kailey Fowler tallied a 105. St. Mary Central Catholic came in 16th with a 464. Alexis Langenberg shot a 100 to lead the Panthers. Port Clinton was 17th with a team score of 510. Paige Johnson topped the Redskins with a round of 120. Addison Rader led Danbury with a 100. The Lakers did not have enough golfers to place as a team. BOYS GOLF SMCC runner-up at Lakota FREMONT — Sophomore Joey Finneran shot a 72 to win medalist honors at the Lakota Invitational at Sycamore Hills. That helped the Panthers to a second-place finish in the event, shooting 329 as a team. Fremont Ross won with a score of 320. Pravir Gorty backed Finneran with an 83 while Leo Will tallied an 84. Carson Eskins rounded out the team scoring with a 90 for SMCC. Huron finished third, tallying a 337 as a group. Grant Humphrey topped the Tigers with a 75 while Paul Murray and Luke Barton each shot an 82. Gavin Parker added a 98 for Huron. Edison was ninth, finishing with a score of 355. Owen Price paced the Chargers with an 85 while Brooks Ballah had an 88. Brayden Barker added a 90 while Eli Hermes and Weston Gfell each shot a 92. Margaretta took 11th, shooting a 367. Jaxson Bohn led the Polar Bears with a 77, Phinneus Headley carded an 80 and Gavin Berg finished with an 89. Weaver medals at Willard WILLARD — Willard junior Kaleb Weaver carded a 38 to win medalist honors Friday at the Northern 10 Shootout at the Willard Golf Course. The Crimson Flashes finished third as a team, shooting a 167. Wynford won with a 157 and Colonel Crawford was second with a 164. Jaxson Hall added a 40 for Willard while Isaac Frye (43) and Jonas Tackett (46) rounded out the scoring. Bellevue 6th at L-B ARLINGTON — Jackson Decker shot an 81 to lead the Redmen to sixth place at the Liberty-Benton Invitational at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Bellevue finished with a team score of 340. Van Buren won the team title with a 319. James Gish added an 85 for the Redmen while Blake Sutherland shot an 86. Preston Spurlock fired an 88 for Bellevue. NL 10th at Hillsdale ASHLAND — A round of 81 from Kade Detterman helped New London finish 10th at the Hillsdale Invitational at Brookside Golf Course. The Wildcats shot a 349. Mansfield Madison was team champions with a total of 302. Logan Sword tallied an 84 for New London. Easton Ball (91) and Tate Mitchell (93) rounded out the team scoring for the Wildcats.
