Mudpuppies from ice holes cause a stir | Sandusky Register Back when I was guiding ice fishermen, whenever I heard men squealing inside one of my shanties and then saw the door fling open and guys' trying to pile outside all at once — it was usually a sign that someone caught a mudpuppy. I would often hear someone excitedly exclaim, "We just caught a fish with legs!"
