Fire company honors grant recipients

VERMILION — Nine students were recognized Monday as recipients of the Vermilion Fire Co.'s 2026 educational grants. The recipients: Kaylee Herchler, Mackenzie Feltis, Evan Kuhns, Suzanna Holmes, Brinley Partin, Grace Neely, Zane Lassen, Megan Rini and Colin Trimble. Recipients who attended the presentation received their grant checks and briefly discussed their college plans. Herchler plans to attend Bowling Green State University and double major in media and film production. Feltis plans to study nursing at the University of Akron. Kuhns plans to major in finance and participate in the honors program at Miami University. Holmes also plans to attend Miami University, where she will study marketing and minor in photography. Lassen, a returning recipient, is entering his second year at Bowling Green State University and is majoring in accounting. Partin, Neely, Rini and Trimble were also identified as returning recipients. The presentation concluded with the recipients in attendance posing for a photo with company members in front of a fire engine.
