Walmart offering free health services

PERKINS TWP. — Walmart is inviting customers to participate in Walmart Wellness Day, a free community health event designed to make preventive care accessible and affordable. This will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at all Walmart locations nationwide, including in area locations, such as Sandusky, Norwalk, Port Clinton and Fremont. "During the event, customers can receive a variety of free health screenings, connect with Walmart pharmacists and learn more about resources that support overall wellness," according to an event statement. "The timing aligns with the busy back-to-school season, giving families an opportunity to check key health metrics, explore immunization options and complete wellness needs while shopping for school essentials," it added. Among the free offerings: • Free health screenings, such as for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index • Vision screenings at select locations • Affordable immunizations • One-on-one pharmacist consultations • Information on nutrition, healthy living and medication support "And with increasing interest in GLP-1 therapies, Walmart is also offering resources for customers interested in learning more about weight management, including guidance from pharmacists and access to additional wellness support," the statement read.
