Walmart offering free health services

PERKINS TWP. — Walmart is inviting customers to participate in Walmart Wellness Day, a free community health event designed to make preventive care accessible and affordable. This will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at all Walmart locations nationwide, including in area locations such as Sandusky, Norwalk, Port Clinton and Fremont. "During the event, customers can receive a variety of free health screenings, connect with Walmart pharmacists and learn more about resources that support overall wellness," according to an event statement. "The timing aligns with the busy back-to-school season, giving families an opportunity to check key health metrics, explore immunization options and complete wellness needs while shopping for school essentials," it added. Event offerings the following free services: • Free health screenings, such as for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index • Vision screenings at select locations • Affordable immunizations • One-on-one pharmacist consultations • Information on nutrition, healthy living and medication support "And with increasing interest in GLP-1 therapies, Walmart is also offering resources for customers interested in learning more about weight management, including guidance from pharmacists and access to additional wellness support," the statement read.
