Come capture this 50th-annual photography show

LAKESIDE-MARBLEHEAD — The 50th-annual Lakeside Photography Show returns to Hoover Auditorium from July 31 to Aug. 22, marking five decades of capturing Lakeside through the lens. This exhibit celebrates the creativity of our community, showcasing work from both amateur and professional photographers. Join the photographers for the opening reception at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, in the Hoover Auditorium lobby. Meet the photographers and be among the first to view and purchase original work. The exhibit is open for viewing from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays between those aformentioned dates as well as 30 minutes prior to performances and worship in Hoover Auditorium. Guests are invited to vote for the Popular Choice Award. The last opportunity to purchase photos is Friday, Aug. 22, before the Hoover show. New this year, the first-place winner will have the opportunity to present a Gallery Talk at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 in Orchestra Hall. The winner will share insights about his/her work, creative journey and inspiration and passion for photography. Additional details and the artist's bio will be announced once the winner is selected. Awards will be given to those finishing in first, second and third places as well as honorable mention in both the adult and teen divisions. Someone will also win the Joel Hagemeyer Award.
