Catholic parishes selects Schaefer

SANDUSKY — The Catholic Parishes of Sandusky recently welcomed Nina Schaefer to its program as the new assistant youth and young adult minister. Her new role takes effect in early August. Schaefer grew up in Huron at St. Peter Catholic Church where she was active in youth ministry. While attending college at the University of Toledo, she served the church through parish and campus ministry, including two summers at Damascus Catholic Mission Campus and two years in student leadership with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students missionaries. Having just recently graduated, Schaefer will continue serving the church with the Catholic Parishes of Sandusky. She will primarily oversee middle school youth ministry while working with Laura Bricker and Seth Ball to guide students into their high school ministry and Live Jesus small groups. Within the young adult ministry, she will be a supportive presence to all and accompany young women in their faith. "I'm looking forward to getting to know the families of Sandusky parishes and walking alongside others as they discover the joy of living the gospel," Nina said. Those representing the local parishes expressed how they're "grateful for Nina and the gifts she brings to their parish family."
