2 arrested at Cedar Point

SANDUSKY — Two Philadelphia residents were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly refusing to exit a ride at Cedar Point when instructed to do so. Just after 7 p.m., Sandusky police were called to the western terminal of the Sky Ride for a report of two people who were refusing to exit the ride, according to a Sandusky police report. Police arrived to find a 62-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man in one of the ride's cars in the station. Cedar Point security told officers the two had an "unapproved container of food on the ride," and they were going to be ejected from the park for violating that policy. Police officers gave the two multiple commands to exit the ride, but they refused, the report states. Eventually, officers determined the two would be arrested. Each was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. The 62-year-old woman allegedly provided false identifying information to officers. When the Erie County Jail sergeant contacted officers and advised them of the woman's real name, they prepared an additional charge of obstructing official business. All of the charges are misdemeanors. They have since been released. Their cases have not been uploaded to the Sandusky Municipal Court website as of late Thursday.
