Local family invited on "Family Feud"

SANDUSKY — This family's efforts were far from futile. After their entertaining tryout at Kalahari Resorts in October, Sandusky resident Tondra Frisby and family were chosen to tape an episode of "Family Feud" in Los Angeles. The show, which debuted with host Richard Dawson in 1976, pits families against one another to guess popular answers to survey questions.Frisby learned about the opportunity Wednesday while out of town in Utah. Her husband, Clifton, sent her a picture of the postcard with the show's logo."I lost it," Frisby said of her reaction.In October, Tondra, Clifton, Tondra's son, Isaac Hurst, his wife, Cristina, and Tondra's stepdaughter, Brit'Nee Frisby, auditioned for the game show at Kalahari Resorts with many local families. The audition process had two steps: First, they competed against another family twice using the game's format. Frisby remembers being asked to name things that can be annoying at the movie theater and best-known things about Florida. Coincidentally, Frisby had just returned from Florida."It was so much fun. It was really like the show," Frisby said. "A lot of families before us were focusing on making an impression (on a casting official) but we just went all out and pretended Steve Harvey was there."After impressing the casting official, Frisby and family members recorded videos describing who they are, which were sent to "Family Feud" producers in Los Angeles to be considered. Frisby said the postcard didn't say when they would tape, but to wait for producers to contact them.
