Murray joins Ohio Democratic Party committee

SANDUSKY — Sandusky attorney Margaret Murray, a longtime Democratic activist, has been named to the Ohio Democratic Party's executive committee. She is one of 24 Democrats named to the panel last week. "I was asked to accept an appointment to the committee and accepted," Murray said, noting that the appointment was effective July 1 and that the term will be from 2026 through 2030. "I was pleased to be asked and look forward to continuing to represent the area in the (party's) executive committee." Murray had been a member of the Ohio Democratic Party's central committee since 2006 as a Democratic committee woman. But in the May Democratic primary, she was defeated in her re-election bid by Susan Mulligan, an Elmore resident. Murray's new appointment appears to ensure that Erie County Democrats will have a voice in state party decisions. Murray, who has a law degree from Case Western Reserve University, is an attorney at the downtown Sandusky Murray & Murray law firm. She has served as president of the Democratic Woman of Erie County and is a member of the Erie MetroParks board. She is the current president of the Erie County Bar Association.
