Museum hosting night of classic country

CLYDE — A popular local country group, Jim Sleek & the Uptown Country Band of the Fremont area, will perform at the Clyde Museum. The event is scheduled from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17 at the museum, 124 W. Buckeye St., Clyde. It will promptly start at 6 p.m., so plan to come early to find a good seat. Admission is free. This is a community event open to the general public. Donations are encouraged and appreciated, but they are not required. It will be a night of classic country music performed on the lawn of the museum. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating on the front lawn or place a lawn chair for seating on West Buckeye Street, as the street will be closed for the concert that evening. Great Plains Bison Burgers will be on-site selling hot food — such as burgers, hot dogs, fried bologna, grilled cheese, walking tacos, nachos, etc. — and cold drinks. Parking will be available in the alleyway parking lots behind the museum, enter from Forest Street, on-street parking on Main Street, the downtown plaza on Railroad Street and the overflow parking lot at the Edward Jones financial offices on the corner of West Buckeye and George streets. The concert is sponsored by the Clyde Heritage League of Clyde and the city of Clyde. If there is inclement weather, like excessive heat or rain, then the concert will be moved inside to the Hurd Room of the museum. There is limited seating in the Hurd Room.
