Dinosaur events dominate Huron library's calendar

HURON — The Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., will offer a wide variety of programs for children, teens and adults throughout July, highlighted by summer learning program events — known as Unearth a Story — local history presentations and family-friendly activities. Among some featured events: • Huron Valley Prehistoric Native American Sites: 6 p.m. on July 6 - Archaeologist Brian G. Redmond, emeritus curator of archaeology at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, will discuss local archaeological excavations and prehistoric Native American sites in the Huron Valley. • Create Your Own Terrarium: 6 p.m. on July 8 — Adults can create a miniature terrarium as part of the library's adult summer learning program. • Movie at Dusk: "The Land Before Time": 8:30 p.m. on July 22 at the Huron Boat Basin Amphitheater — Families can enjoy the classic animated dinosaur adventure under the stars. • Roar-some Celebration: Youth Summer Learning Program Finale: 5:30 p.m. on July 30 at the Huron Boat Basin and Amphitheater — Children who complete the summer reading challenge can attend this finale event featuring dinosaur and archaeology-themed activities, face-painting, balloon art, grand prizes and more.
