Fun 4th planned in PC

PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton's annual Fourth of July festival — known as the Red, White & Vroom celebration— is back, bringing with it a full lineup of activities, food trucks and entertainment for all ages. All activities take place on Saturday throughout the downtown area. Among the notable events: • Star Spangled Squirt Gun Run/Walk 5K — 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. run/walk, 10:30 a.m. awards — starting at the 100 block of Adams St. • Firecracker Cutie Contest — noon at Trinity United Methodist Church on 2nd & Adams streets • Food Truck Feat — from noon to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Trinity • Classic Car, Truck & Cycle Show — from noon to 4 p.m. within the 100 and 200 blocks of Adams streets • Ice Cream Social — from noon to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Trinity • Voices of Freedom Choir Concert — 7 p.m. at Trinity • Family Dance Party — from 8-10 p.m. at Waterworks Park • Fireworks — 10 p.m. at Waterworks Park/City Beach Come out to cutie contest Those organizing the Firecracker Cutie Contest welcome people to the event. The event begins at noon, but registration occurs at 11 a.m. Applications are available at OurGuest Inn & Suites and on the Port Clinton Area 4th of July Celebration Facebook page. It's open to girls of all ages as well as boys up to 6 years old. All contestants are encouraged to wear their best red, white and blue outfits. Contestants age 6 and older will answer one on-stage question about themselves. There is a cost to register, however, all funds help support next year's Port Clinton's Fourth of July celebraiton.
