A growing list of graduates

CASTALIA — Townsend Community School celebrated its growing list of graduates from the 2025-26 school year. Throughout the school year, the school celebrated students as they completed their required courses, tests and graduation requirements. As of June 15, 101 students have turned their tassels, but according to superintendent Ryan Bohn, more are expected to achieve this goal through the summer months. "We are proud of the growth and development that our graduates have demonstrated during their time as students at Townsend," Bohn said. "Many of our students have persevered through various types of adversity. Through these experiences, our students have gained confidence and developed skills that will allow them to be successful within our local communities and contributing members of the workforce." Townsend Community School Class of 2026, as of June 15: • 101 graduates — 9% enrolling in college — 80% entering the workforce — 11% plan to pursue adult education/certification programs • 66% worked while completing high school Bio blast Townsend Community School provides a blended learning educational model for students residing in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties. Founded in 2011, the school is overseen by its sponsor, Margaretta Schools, and specializes in dropout prevention and credit recovery for students in grades 9-12 for those between the ages of 14 and 21. Townsend serves about 500 students in its six-county radius. The school's main campus is located in Castalia. It has three satellite locations for students: in Fremont, Sandusky and on the campus of Lorain County Community College in Elyria. People can learn more by visiting townsendcs.org.
