No longer driving out of town?

Daugherty, director of the senior advocacy agency Serving Our Seniors, writes here about the different ways local seniors can utilize GoBus. Did you know you can travel throughout Ohio on GoBus? The GoBus provides affordable, comfortable transportation between cities, making it easier than ever for older adults to visit family, enjoy a day trip, or simply see new places. The GoBus is Ohio's statewide public transit service. Riders travel in a comfortable motor coach equipped with a restroom and plenty of room for luggage. As with any form of public transportation, it is recommended passengers arrive 10 to 15 minutes before departure rather than at the last minute. For example, if you wanted to travel to Toledo or Cleveland this is how it would work… Travel from Sandusky to Toledo A convenient option for Sandusky residents is a trip to Toledo. The bus departs the Sandusky Amtrak Station, 1200 N. Depot Street at 1:41 p.m. and arrives in Toledo at 3:21 p.m. Riders can return the next morning by leaving Toledo at 8:35 a.m. and arriving back in Sandusky at 10:33 a.m. The cost is just $20 round trip ($10 each way). The bus stops at the University of Toledo and the TARTA Transit Hub in downtown Toledo, where riders can connect to local transportation and travel throughout Lucas County. Travel from Sandusky to Cleveland Another popular destination is Cleveland. The Go Bus leaves the Sandusky Amtrak Station at 10:33 a.m. and arrives in Cleveland at 12:46 p.m. For the return trip, riders can leave Cleveland the following day at 11:28 a.m. and arrive back in Sandusky at 1:41 p.m. The cost is also just $20 round trip ($10 each way). In Cleveland, passengers are dropped off at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) station, where they can connect to the Red Line train and several bus routes to reach destinations throughout the city.
