Suspects in Mr. Hero robbery arrested

PERKINS TWP. — The individuals who allegedly robbed the Mr. Hero restaurant in Perkins Township Oct. 19 have been arrested in the Cleveland area.Daniel T. Begin, 32, Columbia Station, and Casey Liberty, 30, Amherst, will both be charged with aggravated robbery for their role in the Mr. Hero theft.Perkins police Chief Robb Parthemore said it's not known exactly how much money the pair stole from Mr. Hero, but the amount was less than $750.The two were allegedly involved in at least five or six other store robberies in the Elyria area, according to Perkins police Detective Tim Alexander.Begin and Liberty would allegedly drive along Ohio 2 and look for businesses to rob, Alexander said. They have been charged in Lorain County for an Oct. 7 robbery of Gamestop on Midway Boulevard in Elyria and an Oct. 16 robbery of Subway on West River Road in Elyria.Liberty allegedly acted as the driver, using a blue mid-2000s Chevy Cobalt to escape after Begin allegedly robbed the stores, Alexander said.Both are currently in the custody of Elyria police.
