No Jedi mind trick: It's simple to buy Star Wars tickets

PERKINS TWP. — Tickets are now on sale for the latest installment in the wildly popular "Star Wars" film franchise."Star Wars: The Last Jedi" represents the middle chapter in a new trilogy featuring classic characters from the original 1977 film, such as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, and all-new heroes. The film opens on Dec. 17 and picks up where 2015's "The Force Awakens" left off.A new trailer for the film aired during Monday Night Football on ESPN this week. Its debut marked the official start of advance ticket sales.This trailer features characters such as Skywalker, played by Mark Hamil, and Rey, portrayed by Daisy Ridley, the new female lead who seeks out Skywalker for help.Tickets for "Jedi" are now available on movie theater websites, including Fandango, IMAX and Cinemark, which has a location near the Sandusky Mall.A Sandusky Cinemark manager told the Register advance ticket sales are usually sold online at cinemark.com first. Physical tickets will be available for purchase at the theater in the weeks leading up to the film's release.StarWars.com is offering a free pair of 3D "Star Wars" glasses to Cinemark Connections loyalty members.Area residents appear to be extremely excited to see the new film. Here's what a few of them said:• "I'm a huge Star Wars fan," Oak Harbor resident Joe Helle said. "My favorite thing is that I get to take my daughter to see these movies when I never thought I would have that opportunity."• "Star Wars has a great story with humor, action and tremendous music by John Williams," Monroeville resident Kevin Rasnick said. "I'm looking forward to (seeing) Luke Skywalker in the next movie."• "(I) always loved the story of the Star Wars saga," Norwalk resident Chris Morgan said. "It's hard to beat it. I'm most excited to see Rey's development with the Force."
