Linda R. (Chew) Gregg

HURON – Linda R. (Chew) Gregg, 70, of Huron, formerly of Mansfield and Delaware, Ohio, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, in Stein Hospice, Sandusky.Linda was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Shelby, Ohio, and moved to Huron in 2008, after living in Mansfield and Delaware.She graduated from Miami University, and earned a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University. She dedicated her life to education, teaching students, and helping others. Linda worked at a number of different schools including Shelby elementary, The Ohio State University, Olentangy Powell Schools, and Discovery School, Mansfield, where she was a teacher, principal, and administrator in education for 37 years, then retiring in 2007.She was a member of Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators, Association for Supervision, Curriculum Development, and National Education Association.Linda was survived by her husband, Michael, married to for 45 years; mother- and father-in-law, Wilma and Stanley Gregg of Fredericktown, Ohio; sister, Pamela M. Skarl of Huron; brother-in-law, Randy (Nancy) Gregg of Fredericktown; nieces, Tamara Holmes and Wendy Williams of Shelby, Michelle Gregg of Columbus; and nephew, John Gregg of Fredericktown.She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Peggy (TyRee) Chew; and brother-in-law, Gary Gregg.Linda's wish was for family and friends to celebrate her life in ways that bring them the most comfort.At Linda's request, there will be no visitation or service, a cremation will take place.Memorial contributions may be made to Huron Rescue Squad, 413 Main St., Huron, OH 44839, or Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St. Huron, OH 44839.Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, is handling the arrangements.
