Unearth a story at local libraries

MILAN — June brings the start of summer fun at the Milan-Berlin Library District with a full calendar of programs for children, teens and adults at both library locations. The district's summer reading program, Unearth a Story, will run from June 13 through July 25, offering themed events and prize opportunities for all ages. Among some featured events Milan Public Library, 19 Church St, Milan • School's Out Celebration!: 4-4:45 p.m. on June 4 — Children in grades K-6 are invited to celebrate the last day of school with snacks, games and activities. • Touch-A-Truck & Summer Reading Kickoff: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 13 — Celebrate the start of the Unearth a Story summer reading program with this all-ages event featuring hands-on exploration of a variety of vehicles. • Shipwrecks & Archaeology: from noon to 1 p.m. on June 27 — Learn about maritime archaeology and explore Lake Erie shipwrecks in this educational presentation. Berlin Heights Public Library, 4 E. Main St., Berlin Heights• Middle School Pizza Party: 3-4 p.m. on June 1 — Teens can celebrate the end of the school year with pizza, games and crafts during this after-school gathering. • MBLD Pop-Up Cafe: Great British Bake Off Treats: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 27 — Stop by to sample a variety of classic baked goods inspired by the popular TV show. In addition to these featured programs, the library district offers many other activities throughout June for children, teens and adults, including preschool story times, book clubs, craft workshops, technology assistance and hands-on learning experiences tied to the summer reading program.
