PREP ROUNDUP: Finneran finishes 10th at state diving

CANTON — St. Mary Central Catholic's Blake Finneran wrapped up his senior season by achieving all-Ohio honors at the Div. II diving state championships at C.T. Branin Natatorium. Finneran was 10th with a score of 348.15 points. The top-16 divers are considered all-Ohio. He was just over a point behind Hunting Valley University's Joseph Sullivan (349.90), who finished ninth. Columbus Bexley's Jackson Monus ran away with the win, scoring 549.15 points. Hunting Valley University's Burke Bebenroth was second with a score of 447.95. Hayden Holmes from Huron also finished as an all-Ohioan. He was 13th with a score of 324.70. BOWLING Rose ends season at district PORT CLINTON — Sandusky sophomore Violet Rose finished 12th overall at the Div. I district tournament at Star Lanes at the Harbor. The top-2 teams and the top-2 individuals not on qualifying teams advanced to next weekend's state tournament. Rose bowled games of 154, 130 and 235 for a 519 series. Defiance's Mabel Adams was the top individual with a 599 series. Celina's Chloe Bruce and Van Wert's Aydreigh Hanicq each rolled a 590. Celina (3,869) and Bowling Green (3,394) took the team qualifying spots.
